INTERWOVEN
Inspired by the "Bullseye" quilt from 1896 by Martha Lou Jones from the LACMA collection, Interwoven explores the tradition of quilting from a generative perspective. The algorithm investigates the tension between the handmade and the computational that is reflected in both generative art and quilting. Soft curves and aged textures contrast with rigid lines and its underlying medium. Producing figure-like shapes remnsicient of creatures, the series pays homage to the narrative elements that have been integral to the tradition of quilt-making.
Interwoven is a fully on-chain longform exploration that follows-up to the curated 1/1 editioned output of Generative Patchwork and Bullseye.
